Cannabidiol (CBD) is still considered to be a new and relatively unresearched substance in the eyes of medical professionals and federal regulators such as the FDA. So, always buy your CBD from a trusted source. Ask for Certification of Analysis (CoA) and prefer CBD produced locally, from locally grown hemp. Ask to see any tests for purity and potency–ideally, conducted by third-party labs.
